Marvel’s Eternals is one of the most anticipated movies of the years and has already captured the complete attention of the fans. With a star-studded cast, the movie is set to release in theatres on November 5.
At the premiere of the movie, Haaz Sleiman, who plays one half of the first openly gay couple in the Marvel Cibematic Universe (MCU) spoke about the impact the movie will have with this representation.
Speaking in an interview with Variety, the actor said, “Beyond a dream come true. It's lifesaving, I wish I had that when I was a kid growing up, to see this. My god, I wish."
He continued saying that this will be saving many lives and that young queer folk who are bullied or committing suicide and are not represented will now get to see this.
The actor also pointed out the racial diversity in the upcoming Marvel movie. Talking about this he said, “The fact that Brian [Tyree Henry] is also Black, you know, that's also beautiful to me. We're both people of color,"
This is the first time a hero in the MCU will be openly gay and is married and also has a child.
Directed by Chloé Zhao, the movie has an ensemble cast that includes Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Don Lee, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie.
