Eternals: Twitteratis cannot keep calm after watching the desi connect in the teaser

The teaser of Marvel’s upcoming movie Eternals has become quite a rage on social media. Apart from the reunion of Game of Thrones’ stars Kit Harington and Rob Richard Madden, another aspect that netizens loved the most is that the teaser offered representation of South Asian, especially India’s culture.

The film, which is Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)’s latest offering, will apparently have an Indian-themed wedding between Ikaris (Richard) and Sersi (Gemma Chan). Netizens are sharing the scene on Twitter, appreciating Marvel for the representation. One of the users even went on to compare the duo’s wedding to the iconic Red Wedding of Game of Thrones.

And it’s not just the wedding. Kingo’s (Kunal Nayyar) scene where he grooves to what looks like a Bollywood number, has also been noted and shared on the platform. “Shaking, crying, feel like I’m dying,” wrote a user, while sharing stills from the teaser.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise as the Eternals are an immortal alien race who have secretly lived on Earth for 7,000 years. The movie is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame. In the teaser, Kingo asks who would lead the Avengers with Iron Man and Captain America gone, as Thena (Angelina Jolie) looks on. When Ikaris says he could do it, everybody bursts out laughing.

Eternals stars Kit in the role of Black Knight, Salma Hayek as Ajak and Ma Dong-seok as Gilgamesh. The film also sees Barry Keoghan in the role of Driug, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari and Tyler Simmonds as Tanner.

The makers are yet to announce a release date for Eternals, but the movie is slated to release after Loki and Black Widow.
