Euphoria, the latest Telugu film starring Bhumika Chawla, Sara Arjun and others, is currently running in theatres. The film is written and directed by Gunasekhar, who recently revealed that his first choice to play a role in the film, was a Telugu super star, none other than Chiranjeevi.

Euphoria: What did director Gunasekhar say about casting Chiranjeevi?

Telugu director Gunasekhar’s latest release was Telugu social drama Euphoria. The film hit theatres last week and is currently playing in big screens. In a recent report by 123 Telugu, it has come to known that Gunasekhar had first reached out to Chiranjeevi to play the role of a police office in the film.

While the director did manage to get the Telugu super star to read the script of Euphoria, Chiranjeevi had to turn down, citing it was not the right time for him to play the role. Subsequently, the role then was played by actor and director Gautham Vasudev Menon.

It is to be noted that after a good time of three years did Gunasekhar made a directorial comeback with Euphoria. The director’s last release was in 2023, the mythical drama Shaakuntalam which featured Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead titular role.

Will Euphoria not come in theatres?

It was only recently had Gunasekhar stated that the film will not come on OTT anytime soon. The director said that the film was made for a theatrical experience. He further added that Euphoria will give some food for thought and contains a social message.

Euphoria is a social crime drama which stars Dhurandhar fame Sara Arjun, Bhumika Chawla, Gautham Menon, Nassar, Rohith, Vignesh Gavireddy, Likhita Yalamanchali, Addala Prudhviraj, Kalpa Latha, Sai Srinika Reddy, and others. The film revolves around the themes of crime culture among youth and explores the aftermath of an abuse that youngsters do on a girl. Though the film had opened to good reviews, it failed to create an impact on the box office.
