Kalyan Ram impressed one and all with Bimbisara. The period drama became a big hit and gave Kalyan Ram a breather in his dull career which did not have a single hit in the last three years. His last film, Amigos was a big flop at the box office where Kalyan Ram played a triple role. Now, Kalyan Ram has wrapped up a film called Devil which is also a period drama
Not many know but the film is set in the backdrop of 1940. The makers have spent a bomb on the sets of the film and we at OTTplay have come to know exclusive info about these sets. Going into details, more than 80 sets have been laid for this film and close to a year has gone into making of these sets.
Art director Gandhi is the man behind these sets and the news is that the props used for these sets were procured from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kolkata, Kerala, and Rajasthan. But producer Abhishek Nama did not shy away from building these sets says one of the unit members.
Some of the lavish sets include the 1940 Andhra club set in Madras, 500 books with royal British cover designs, nine trucks, 10 vintage cycles, and one vintage car during the British era. Apart from this, a 1940 cargo ship set and a 36-foot lighthouse set near the Vizag seashore were erected.
The news is that more than one thousand tonnes of iron, fiber, and ten thousand square feet of vintage wallpapers were used to build these sets. Nandamuri Kalyanram is known for his knack for selecting unique scripts right from the beginning of his career and is bringing Devil which denotes the ferocity of the protagonist.
The recently released promo created solid applause from the audience. Once again, the popular hero will be seen in a role that will have slightly negative shades. Devil is all set for a release on November 24, 2023.
