Exclusive! Abhilash Thapliyal was worried about Blurr and Faadu: A Love Story’s same day release: Could be missed out

Abhilash Thapiyal, who is currently making headlines for his upcoming series, Pitchers 2, is also seen in two of the recently released content – Blurr and Faadu: A Love Story. Although the actor is having a great time with the amount of appreciation he received after the release of his projects, he was actually worried about two releases on the same day. Both his roles are poles apart but because of the back-to-back streaming, there’s a fear of looking similar – a fear that Abhilash had before both his OTT originals actually released. 

In an exclusive chat, Abhilash told OTTplay, "I was initially a bit worried about the fact that two of my shows are releasing on the same day. What happens these days is, there is too much content out there and the chances of getting missed out are more. I knew that both worlds of stories were different and the characters were very distinct. But what if people just don't notice ours...when two good projects come in a gap of some time, both get breathing space. However, it was not in my hand as an actor as we all know that such decisions are in the hands of the makers. But I am glad that people are identifying me with these characters." 

He also mentioned how after doing a show like Aspirants in which his character Shwetketu aka SK was well appreciated, he was careful about his choice to avoid getting typecast. 

"Before December 9, in the mind of the people it was only SK from Aspirants so now they have got a chance to see me in completely different two characters. I could have been boxed in one of such characters like SK as people still identify me with him. But I am thankful for the variety of opportunities I got in the last two projects," shared Abhilash. 

The film Blurr stars Taapsee Pannu in a double role as the protagonist. In Faadu: A Love Story, Abilash plays a very dark, intense character. The series features Saiyami Kher and Pavail Gulati in the lead roles.
