Actor Jagadish Kumar, who is on a sabbatical from his TV commitments, is part of some plum projects including Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal’s Bro Daddy and Alphonse Puthren’s Gold. OTTplay has now learnt about the role that the actor will be playing in Bro Daddy.
Jagadish will be playing a doctor once again in the film. The actor, who had played a medico, in the Prithviraj-starrer Bhramam will be seen in a similar role in Bro Daddy too. While his character in Bhramam was that of a doctor with no ethics, his character in Bro Daddy will be more light-hearted in approach.
In an earlier interview with us, Jagadish had told us that Prithviraj wanted him to showcase a “dignified performance” for Bro Daddy. “He said the movie has humour but you don’t have to show it so it appears funny, the result of what you do will evoke laughter,” Jagadish had said.
Jagadish, meanwhile, is also part of Prithviraj’s Gold that has Nayanthara and Ajmal Amir as part of the cast. The movie too belongs to the feel-good comedy genre and is set to wrap up filming soon.
Bro Daddy, which has Mohanlal and Prithviraj playing father and son respectively, has a huge star cast including Kaniha, Soubin Shahir, Unni Mukundan, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Lalu Alex. The movie, which was shot completely in Hyderabad, is set for a direct-to-OTT release, as confirmed by its producer Antony Perumbavoor.
We hear that the makers have sold its rights to Disney+ Hotstar, which is aiming at releasing the movie for Christmas this year. An official confirmation is awaited.
