Exclusive! Akansha Ranjan Kapoor on Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor's baby: My new masi duty is cute

Actress Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, who recently appeared in the Vasan Bala-directorial Monica, O My Darling, is also Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt's best friend. Alia gave birth to a baby girl a few weeks ago, and Akansha shares that her newfound masi duty is 'cute' and 'cool'.

Akansha told OTTplay, "I am very emotional about this new phase in my life — of being a masi. But I am also figuring things out. New emotions, new masi duty — it's all cute and cool!"

Akansha is Alia's close childhood friend and one can see from social media pictures of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's wedding that she was quite excited at her best friend's wedding.

Ranbir and Alia got married on April 14, 2022, and the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on November 6. The baby was born at the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai.

Being born and brought up in Mumbai, surrounded by Bollywood stars and its culture, Akansha shared how all of this taught her about the harsh realities of the entertainment business.

She said, "Since I was child, I have seen closely how things change every Friday, and was exposed to the fragile nature of it. One week, you could be a super success, and the next, with bad box office collections, things can go all wrong. Even before I entered the entertainment business, I was aware and emotionally prepared to deal with all of it. Having said that, no one can prepare you for life until it happens to you. The pandemic hit right after my first release and we experienced the ultimate uncertainty. No one can prepare for that!"

Akansha's film, Monica, O My Darling, also features Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte and Sikandar Kher. It is streaming on Netflix.
