Exclusive: Akkineni Nagarjuna's next to be a period drama, here's what we know

Nagarjuna has maintained a low profile ever since his last film 'The Ghost' failed at the Tollywood box office. His TV show, Bigg Boss 6 was also a mixed season as the ratings of the show were quite low. He is also not going to return as the host next season and all this made him keep a low profile. Nagarjuna also did not speak even when star hero Balakrishna made a satire at his late dad and legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

He is busy giving finishing touches to his latest Telugu film as per the news. By now, we all know that Nagarjuna is introducing noted writer Prasanna Kumar as a director with his film. We have come to know from our sources that Akkineni Nagarjuna's next film will be a period drama. The star hero liked a story narrated by Prasanna and locked it and is busy making changes to it now.

Sometime back, there was news that Nag was remaking a Malayalam hit in Telugu but things have changed in the last month or so. The film will be made on an experimental note and on a low budget. Yet another popular actor will also be seen in this film which Nagaruna himself produces on his Annapurna Studios banner as per the info.

Nagarjuna has time and again introduced so many directors to Telugu cinema. His latest addition is Prasanna Kumar, who has written scripts for films like Nani's Nenu Local and Ravi Teja's Dhamaka which made over 100 crores at the box office. Now, he has bagged the chance of directing Nagarjuna and we need to see what kind of a film he makes in the days to come.
