Exclusive! Akshay Oberoi plays an air force pilot in Fighter

Actor Akshay Oberoi is gearing up for his biggest project yet. He stars alongside Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, and Hrithik Roshan in Fighter. The actor opened up to us about his character in the film that is directed by Sidharth Anand.

Akshay told OTTplay, "I play an air force pilot in the film and of course, I feel lucky to be working with one of the most celebrated filmmakers of the country, along with two superstars. Even though it is a highly ambitious project, Sidharth knows how to keep the environment on set light, yet extract the best performance from every department. The experience of working on the film was lovely. Be it Deepika, Hrithik, or Sidharth: they never made me feel the power of their stardom. Everyone was treated well, and as an equal. Having bagged this film only shows that if an actor put his head down and works hard, he will eventually get a big project."

According to the actor, sharing a good bond with his co-star is very important for him to deliver a good performance.

Akshay was earlier seen in films like Saif Ali Khan's Kaalakaandi, and Gaslight with Sara Ali Khan and Chitrangada Singh.

Sharing one such experience from the past, Akshay said, "I loved working with both Sara and Chitrangada both in Gaslight. Chitrangada is beautiful and as a performer, she has an incredible amount of depth, which is fascinating. Sara, on the other hand, is a live wire! She is full of energy and there can never be a dull moment with her. I think we all need to have good co-stars so that even if a role is challenging, you enjoy working with the people around!"

Fighter, that also stars Karan Singh Grover, is a directorial venture of Siddharth Anand who is the man behind the blockbuster hit Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan. It is produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures.
