Akshaye Khanna is one of the most noted actors in Bollywood today. Throughout his career, he dared to do projects which other actors during that time would possibly not have wished to be a part of. Whether a daring project like Humraaz or playing the lead antagonist in Race, Akshaye did not back out of roles even if he could have been shunned off by the audiences and eventually, the filmmakers.
One such project Akshaye took a risk with, was his second Bollywood film Border. In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, the actor shared that people called him foolish when he tried to share screen space with superstars like Sunny Deol and others in the JP Dutta directorial.
“Sometimes certain decisions are viewed as a possible risk by people. I was a newcomer in Border and there were massive superstars all around me. Many people had told me back then that it would be foolish to share screen space with people who are so accomplished,” he revealed.
The actor further added, “I think once you believe in something and have your heart fixed on it, then you just go for it. So yeah, I took a risk and the results have also been very positive.”
Akshaye is currently seen in Ken Ghosh’s State of Siege: Temple Attack, which has constantly been compared to Border.
Explaining the difference between the two projects, Akshaye shared, “They’re all different stories. Those were a long time, almost a lifetime ago. This is a hostage drama while those were war films.”
Akshaye has not yet finalized on his next project. He is currently enjoying the love his character has received for Temple Attack.
