Exclusive! Andhadhun producers to make their Mollywood foray with Anna Ben, Arjun Ashokan’s Trishanku

Malayalam actors Anna Ben and Arjun Ashokan, who have been on a roll lately, have teamed up for debutant director Achuth’s film titled Trishanku, the shoot of which is currently under way.

Arjun had earlier told us that the film’s production had begun late last year and he was shuttling between the movie’s schedule and that of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Kaduva. Anna Ben, whose latest release Naradan has her playing the role of a lawyer, is now currently shooting for Trishanku.

The actress tells us that the movie also marks the debut Malayalam production of Matchbox Pictures, which had earlier backed Bollywood films such as Ayushmann Khurrana’s Andhadhun .

She and Arjun were also supposed to team up for Vikrithi director Emcy Joseph’s Ennittu Avasanam, which also has Madhoo in a pivotal role. “The movie has been pushed for later, we are now shooting for Trishanku,” says Anna.

Matchbox Pictures is the third Bollywood production company to bankroll a Malayalam film this year after John Abraham’s banner John Abraham Entertainment funded Anaswara Rajan’s upcoming movie Mike and another big Bollywood banner has decided to back Mammootty’s next movie with One director Santosh Vishwanath.

Meanwhile, after Naradan, Anna will next be seen in Vysakh’s Night Drive, which also has Roshan Mathew as part of the cast. “It’s neither a realistic nor a ‘mass masala’ movie; it’s somewhere in the middle and fans of both types of films can enjoy it. The second half is pacy and it does have a bit of action and romance. It’s a commercial entertainer, which I have never done before,” she says.

Arjun, who was also part of Ajagajantharam, Jan.E.Man and Member Rameshan 9aam Ward, will next be seen in Rajeev Ravi’s Thuramukham. The actor has also completed shooting for Shaji Kailas’ Kaduva, Nancy Rani and Thattassery Koottam.
