Exclusive! Are Dev and Rukmini Maitra prepping to be back on the big screen?

Dev is basking in the glory of Projapati. The Avijit Sen film which also features Mithun Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar, Koneenica Banerjee, Ambarish Bhattacharya, and others took the box office by storm after its release before Christmas. The actor has been posting snippets, unseen photos, and updates of Projapoti on his social media handles. Rukmini, on the other hand, is gearing up to play Nati Binodini in Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s ambitious project. 

Meanwhile, according to sources, Dev and Rukmini are gearing up to be back together in another film with will be reportedly directed by the director of Kishmish, Rahool Mukherjee. As per sources, the film is titled, Chirkut. There has been no confirmation yet about the film. However, it is said to be a multi starer film. Like Kishmish, this film will be produced by Dev’s production house. 

Meanwhile, Dev is also gearing up to play Bagha Jatin in Arun Roy’s historic biopic. The shooting will start by end of this month. Earlier, Dev successfully played the character of Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari in Dhrubo Banerjee’s Golondaaj. Known as the father of Indian football, Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari, the character fought with the British rulers on the soccer field. Now the actor will be seen as the freedom fighter Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay.  

On the other hand, Rukmini is all set to play Binodini Dasi – aka Noti Binodini – in Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s next, Binodiini – Ekti Natir Upakhyan. The makers unveiled the teaser poster of the film with Rukmini as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a character that Binodini Daasi played on stage. Dev’s house will co-produce the film.
