Exclusive: Arindam Sil: Our team is geared up to work 24x7 to bring out the new Byomkesh

Arindam Sil has once again teamed up with Abir Chatterjee and Sohini Sarkar to present the brand-new chapter of the Byomkesh Bakshi mystery, Byomkesh-Hatyamancha. The film will bring back Abir Chattopadhyay as Byomkesh and Sohini Sarkar, as Satyabati. However, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay will be seen as the new Ajit, Byomkesh’s friend and assistant. Ritwick Chakraborty and Rahul portrayed the character in Arindam’s earlier Byomkesh films. Besides, the film will also portray Paoli, Anusha Viswanathan, Kinjal Nanda, Arna Mukhopadhya and others as the key characters. The shooting of the film started on June 1 and the film will be released in August.

“We have a very tight schedule and the entire team is all geared up to work 24x7 to bring out the new Byomkesh. Based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s unfinished story Bishupal Bodh, Padmanava (Dasgupta, scriptwriter) and I developed the script,” said Arindam exclusively to OTTPlay. The shooting is in full swing and the first look of the characters is out on social media.

Arindam Sil started with Har Har Byomkesh in 2015. After Byomkesh Pawrbo in 2016 and Byomkesh Gotro in 2018, he is back with the fourth film. “This fourth one is a different equation altogether. We added additional details which were put in an already monumental inscription. We are anticipating that the audience will shower the same love and appreciation that they did in the previous Byomkesh outings.”

Like most of Arindam’s films, Bickram Ghosh will be composing the music. The film is set against the backdrop of the tumultuous 1971 Naxalite uprising in Bengal. Byomkesh Bakshi gets involved in a story of vengeance. The plot starts when he decides to attend a play at a theatre and becomes a witness to a crime unfolding on the centre stage. As the sleuth digs deep into the case, it opens him to a tripartite story of love, betrayal and infidelity. Amidst this convoluted maze, a mystery is laid bare for Byomkesh to solve.
