Actress Bhavana, who is set for her Malayalam comeback with debutant Adhil Maimoonath Asharaf’s Ntikkakkakkoru Premondarnn, has also signed another project, which will be helmed by veteran filmmaker Bhadran. The movie, which is titled Eo, will have the actress teaming up with Shane Nigam and Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Bhadran had first announced the project in 2019 with the title Joothan. While Soubin Shahir, Joju George and Rima Kallingal were initially part of the film, the entire cast has now changed with the actors being busy with other projects.

After Rima dropped out, Mamta Mohandas was considered for the role in the film that was set to begin shooting by January 2020. Now, the film’s scriptwriter S Suresh Babu exclusively tells OTTplay that they have roped in Bhavana as the female protagonist.

“Shane Nigam will be playing the lead. The movie will also have Bhavana and Gautham Vasudev Menon as part of the cast. Bhavana will be playing the role of an actress in the film, while Gautham will be seen in the role of an IPS officer,” he says, adding that Bhavana plays a leading South Indian star who has won the National Award twice in her career in the film.

On the change in the movie title, Suresh, whose most recent release is Navya Nair’s Oruthee, says, “Shane plays a Jew named Eo Eliyavu Kohen in the film and hence the title.” Eo will also mark Bhadran comeback directorial after a gap of 17 years. His previous film was the Mohanlal-starrer Udayon in 2005.

The upcoming movie is touted to be a drama thriller and will be shot entirely in Fort Kochi, where its story is set. The plan right now is to begin shooting the film by September this year. Bhadran sir is currently busy with the process of releasing Spadikam’s 4K version in theatres. Eo’s shoot will begin only after the release of that.”

Meanwhile, Bhavana recently shot for a short film titled The Survival, which is helmed by SN Rajeesh. She is also part of the Kannada film Pink Note, in which the actress will be seen in a double role for the first time in her career.
