Exclusive! Bidisha De’s close friend: She was a fun-loving and carefree soul, but never heard her mentioning Manjusha Neogi

In a tragic turn of events, another model-cum-actress Manjusha Neogi passed away due to suicide on Friday morning in Kolkata. After her, three model actresses died by suicide in two weeks in Tollywood. On May 15, popular TV actress Pallabi Dey was also found dead at her rented apartment. On May 25, Bidisha Sen Majumder’s body was discovered by her neighbours in Dum Dum. Now, Manusha’s death has left everyone shocked.

According to reports, Manjusha suffered from depression post Bishidha’s death. However, Dipsha, a close friend and colleague of Bidisha, said she was not familiar with her name. “Bidisha never mentioned Manjusha’s name. It is deeply shocking for all of us,” Dipsha, a model, told exclusively to OTTplay.

Dipsha and Bidisha were friends for more than four years. “I am slightly older than her and she used to call me didi. We have nurtured our friendship for years. I remember her as a jovial, fun-loving and carefree soul. She was anything but depressed. In fact, no one would identify her as an introverted person. I am not as expressive as she is and hence, she used to stand up for me."

Dipsha told us about Bidisha’s romantic involvements too. “She started seeing Anubhab Bera in February this year. Until March, everything seemed ok. Later, she became a little quiet. When I asked her what the matter was, she said that she wanted to marry Anubhab. ‘Anubhab likes quiet, homely women’, she mentioned. We used to tell her that this quiet behaviour did not suit her,” she said.  

Dipsha and Bidisha partied together a couple of days before she died. “It was a birthday party for a friend’s child. I remember Bidisha playing music from her phone. That was the last time we met. I still cannot believe that I would never meet her again,” said an emotional Dipsha.
