Exclusive! Bigg Boss Malayalam 4 fame Dr Robin Radhakrishnan to debut as hero, to pick from two scripts

Considering the massive popularity of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 4 contestant Dr Robin Radhakrishnan, it was only a matter of time before his debut film was announced. And on Monday, Mohanlal did just that when he shared the news of the youngster’s upcoming film.

The movie will be produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla under his banner STK Frames. In an exclusive chat with OTTplay soon after Mohanlal’s announcement, Santosh, who had previously backed Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, Neerali and Android Kunjappan Ver. 5.25, tells us, “The upcoming movie will have Dr Robin in the lead. He will play the central character in the movie. The rest of the casting will be finalised soon.”

The producer tells us that the cast and crew of the movie will be announced in the next few days. “We are considering two scripts to pick from. We will make a final decision in two days and then announce the team,” says the producer.

Dr Robin had shared a still with Santhosh on Sunday, captioning it, "Dream come true." Today, after Mohanlal had shared the poster of his film, Dr Robin took to his social networking page to thank the producers for introuducing him to the Malayalam film industry and giving him the opportunity.

Dr Robin, who is also a motivational speaker, had previously acted in a short film titled Niram in 2019 and a few music videos. He had also anchored a chat show titled Chat with Doctor Machaan. He was among the most popular contestants in the ongoing season of Bigg Boss Malayalam and was tipped to be frontunner to win the reality show’s edition till his unexpected elimination last month.

He was evicted from the show for violating the show’s rules after a physical altercation with social media influencer Riyas Salim. The decision to eliminate him apparently didn’t go down well with his fans.
