It is an exciting time for actor Abhilash Thapliyal, who has been receiving a lot of love for his performance in the web series Faadu - A Love Story, and the Taapsee Pannu film Blurr.

Sharing the story behind how he got the part in Blurr, the actor told OTTplay in an exclusive chat, "Initially, I was locked to play a hotel manager in the film. It was a small part and we shot for it for one whole day. I had only that much work. I was okay with it because my mother had heart surgery and I flew back to Delhi to be with my her and my family. It was late at night when Taapsee called me and said that the team thinks that I would be best suited for the role of Chander and she asked me if I wanted to do it. I was like, 'Really? That's a big part. It is challenging, interesting and everything that an actor would look for in a role!'"

So, he grabbed the opportunity, prepared for it and eventually played the part of Chander in Blurr.

"I am someone who loves attention. I know, no one openly admits to that but I do. I like it when people appreciate my work, compliment me or talk to me. I am outspoken and a chatterbox. Chander is completely different from who I am in real life. So, the first challenge was to play someone who is the opposite of who I am," shared Abhilash.

The actor was earlier seen in Dil Juunglee, TVF Aspirants and Raksha Bandhan.

Directed by Ajay Bahl, Blurr, based on the Spanish film Julia's Eyes, also features Gulshan Devaiah and Kruttika Desai Khan. It is available to stream on OTTplay and Zee5.
