Dayaa was a smash hit on OTT and gave actor JD Chakravarthy's career a new lease of life. It was his OTT debut and he performed quite well in the titular role in the series, which was created and directed by Pavan Sadineni.
Ever since Dayaa ended up being a massive hit, there is only one question being asked on social media: will there be a season 2 for the show? Well, we have the answer, as director Pavan has opened up about season 2 of Dayaa.
Speaking to us, Pawan says that Dayaa 2 is definitely on the cards and filming will begin by the end of December 2024. Pavan adds that he has yet to start scripting for the second season as he is busy with his new film as of now.
The pre-production of his next film is nearing its completion and very soon, Pawan will announce the star cast of this new-age entertainer. There is news that Pavan will direct either Rana Daggubati or Dulquer Salmaan for his next feature film.
Coming back to Dayaa, even JD is super thrilled about the second season and says he is waiting for the director, Pavan, to narrate the story. But there is a lot of time for Pavan to helm a feature film first. Dayaa also had Eesha Rebba in a key role. The show is about a van driver who gets embroiled in a crime scene due to a dead body found in his van.
Josh Ravi also played a key role in this series, which is now streaming on Hotstar. Dayaa marks the debut of JD Chakravarthy in the OTT space. He was not keen on doing the show but the moment he heard a narration, JD said yes to the show.
