Sandhya Shetty, who played a key role in the recently released web series Dharavi Bank with Suneil Shetty and Vivek Oberoi, talks about how her childhood dream is coming true in her next film, which is being directed by veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan. The actor will be narrating the character of a police officer in Priyadaeshan's film Corona Papers, which is her Malayalam debut.
In a conversation with OTTplay, Sandhya said, "This is going to be my dream come true moment with the film Corona Papers because this is my debut in Malayalam cinema with Priyadarshan sir, though I worked with him earlier as well. In my life, I always had a dream to join the police force or army. I wanted to wear the uniform. In fact, after doing NCCA training from the army wing, I also did the special parade that takes place on January 26, on the occasion of our Republic Day in Delhi. I was also preparing for the next step in that direction, but then Miss India and modelling happened to me, followed by Karate, and I started excelling in that."
"So, eventually, my dream to wear a uniform took a back seat, and I became an actress. However, it is only possible in the work of cinema and acting, so even though I could not wear the uniform in real life, I am doing it in reel with Priyan Sir's film. I could not have asked for more," she further added.
The actress earlier acted in films like Bas Yun Hi, Meenaxi: Tale of 3 Cities, and Kabhi Socha Bhi Na Tha, to name a few. She previously worked on one of Priyadarsharn's Tamil films, Nimir.
The web series Dharavi Bank, which also stars Sonali Kulkarni, Luke Kenny, and Freddy Daruwala, is streaming on MX Player.
