Dhyan Sreenivasan’s big-budget script 9MM, which was first announced in 2020, will be delayed further. The movie, which has Manju Warrier in the lead, has been pushed to later this year due to scheduling conflicts of its actors as well as the pandemic.

In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Dhyan, who is scripting the movie that will be directed by Dhinil Babu, tells us, “It’s a big project that is planned as a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual. Right now, Manju chechi has also signed H Vinoth’s upcoming Ajith-starrer and so that will take much of her time.”

9MM, which is an action thriller that evolves in Coimbatore and Chennai, also has Sunny Wayne and Dileesh Pothan as part of its cast. The film is set to be made on a big canvas. Dhyan also says that Manju’s unavailability isn’t the sole reason the movie has been delayed.

“Because it's a bilingual, we also have to sort out the dates of the Tamil actors we have in mind. Also, when Manju chechi is free, some of us are busy with other projects. That’s why it’s taking time. However, the project is very much on and we are hoping the movie will go on floors by this year end,” says Dhyan.

Ask him about his directorial plans and the actor says, “Love Action Drama took two years of my time and so now I am aware of the investment in time that directing a movie requires. Right now, I want to focus on my acting commitments and then begin work on my next directorial.”

The actor will next be seen in the thriller Udal, which also has Indrans and Durga Krishna. He has also scripted Prakashan Parakkatte, which has Mathew Thomas and Dileesh Pothan as part of the cast. The movie is set to release in theatres on June 17.
