Chithha is one of the most-awaited movies in the OTT space. Starring Siddharth in the lead role, the film was expected to make its streaming debut on November 17.
However, exclusive information obtained by OTTplay from Disney+Hotstar reveals that the news regarding Chithha's digital release date is inaccurate.
Rumours surrounding the movie's digital premiere began circulating due to an unofficial poster on social media, displaying the wrong date. Several leading publications picked up on this information without receiving official confirmation.
It's noteworthy that Disney+Hotstar, the movie's official streaming partner, has not listed Chithha among its upcoming releases. This week, the platform is set to feature the Malayalam blockbuster Kannur Squad, starring Mammootty, as the only major regional film.

Chithha was released in cinemas on September 28. Contrary to the current industry practices, the film's streaming debut didn't happen as expected after four weeks of its theatrical release.
Last month, Siddharth expressed his gratitude to patrons who saw Chithha in cinemas and dropped hints about the film's availability on streaming. "Thank you to the universe for helping us make this film. To all those who had access to the film and chose to see it in Cinemas... You have my heart and gratitude. You earn the right to talk about cinema, and we owe it to you to listen... All because you went out and supported a film this good. To those without access to our Film in cinemas.... The reason for the delay in Chithha's OTT release remains unclear. Written and directed by S. U. Arun Kumar, Chithha stars Nimisha Sajayan as the female lead.
