Exclusive! Esha Deol on Hunter - Tootega Nahi, Todega: Action is one of my favorite genres

Esha Deol is excited about making a come back with the web series titled Hunter - Tootega Nahi, Todega. The actress does a lot of action sequences in the action-thriller series, which is perfect for Esha, who says she is an adrenaline junkie and that action is one of her favourite genres.

In the series, Esha plays a criminal journalist named Divya who, on a mission to expose some wrong doings, teams up with ACP Vikrant (played by Suniel Shetty).

When asked if she has any strategy for doing more action films and shows, Esha told OTTplay, "Honestly speaking, even though I do not have a strategy for my acting career, action is surely a genre that I enjoy doing. I do not know whether it is the sportsperson, adrenaline junkie or the fitness freak in me who loves it, but doing action onscreen is one of my favourite things. I have always been someone who loves expressing emotions physically rather than through words. I really identify with girls with strong body language and those who are physically fit. So, when I hold a gun onscreen, there is no way that I will go wrong. I am confident about that."

She went on to add, "Besides that, I am also trained in kickboxing and I recently started doing non-combat training . So, overall, I have a natural inclination towards action."

Since she is also a trained dancer, Esha said that combination of grace and strength from sports and dance has shaped her personality.

"I think that all my training in sports and dance -- be it playing football for seven years and participating in matches, learning Odissi and performing onstage -- has made me the person that I am today." 

When we asked her about the kind of work that she wants to do now, the 40-year-old actor said, "I am looking for meaty roles in films and series, so I am choosing my roles wisely." 

Hunter - Tootega Nahi, Todega is directed by Alok Batra and Prince Dhiman, and produced by Vikram Mehra and Vikram Anand Kumar. The series also stars Suniel Shetty, Barkha Singh, Rahul Dev, Karanvir Sharma, Smita Jaykar and Pawan Chopra. It releases on Amazon miniTV on March 22.
