Exclusive! Gashmeer Mahajani is shocked and surprised by Tu Zakhm Hai S2

Gashmeer Mahajani plays Viraj Trehan in Tu Zakhm Hai, the second season of which dropped recently. He opened up to us on how he is able to watch his own show from a distance, considering the shooting of the show was completed long ago.

The story of the show is about how Viraj, who runs a crime syndicate, takes a woman named Kavya as hostage. Eventually, Kavya gets to know Viraj's real side and the two develop feelings for each other.

The first season of the show was released in 2022 and even though the second season released only last week, the makers of the show shot the both seasons back-to-back. 

OTTplay asked Gashmeer if now when he watches the show, has he discovered anything new about his character?

Gashmeer said, "I can now watch the show as an audience member and the more I watch Viraj -- the way he enjoys violence -- it really surprises me. As an actor, after shooting the show Tu Zakhm Hai, a lot of things have happened in my life. I participated in the dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 and also shot for another TV series, so I have been out of the character of Viraj for a while."

The actor added, "But now, when I watch the show, it really surprises me that my character has the tendency to enjoy and treat violence as something normal; it is an intrinsic part of his life, since he runs a criminal syndicate. I think it happens to all actors: when we perform a character, we just follow the script and do everything that is right for the character. Now, I, the same person who did those actions onscreen, am wondering how I did it!"

When asked about his upcoming projects, the actor shared that he is going to be very occupied in the coming days.

"I am currently shooting for a TV serial and after that, I will begin work on two Marathi films that will be released by the end of this year. We are planning for a pan-India release, and both the films are big-budget ones for the Marathi film industry. Work is currently on to adapt a novel by a prolific writer into a Hindi web series. I won't be able to mention the name and OTT platform for this, but the official announcement will be made soon," shared Gashmeer. 

Tu Zakhm Hai season 2 is directed by Saurabh Arora, Aniruddha Rajderkar, and Noel Smith. It also stars Donal Bisht, Sameer Malik, Parinita Seth, Mihir Mishra, Nehal Chudasama, and Amit Behl, and is available to stream on MX Player.
