Exclusive! Good Bad Girl actor Vaibhav Raj Gupta calls his character competitive but vulnerable at the same time

Good Bad Girl is new comedy series on SonyLIV that explores the life of Maya, who can leave no stone unturned to win in her life even if she needs to use a big lie. Samridhi Dewan and Vaibhav Raj Gupta are portraying the pivotal characters in the show. 

In a chat with OTTplay, the actors spoke about their experiences of working in the series and also shared about their ongoing and upcoming ventures. Excerpts:

When asked the actors what they admire about their respective characters, Samridhi shared that Maya is a go-getter and she is not the kind of a person who will stop and accept defeat, she will do anything to win her battle. 

Meanwhile, Vaibhav mentioned that his character Sahil is very competitive and at the same time very vulnerable. "I think the latter quality of Sahil will be relatable to many people," he added.

Samridhi and Vaibhav play lawyers in Good Bad Girl, when asked if they went to a real court or read laws related books to prepare for the show, the actors clarified that even though the story revolves around the lives of a few attorneys and law firms, the series is completely far from any courtroom drama and inclines more toward a comedy driven show.

Samridhi has directed an Instagram series named Chidiya Ghar, when asked to share the motive behind the mini-series, the actor unveiled, "It's a 1 minute series of a total of 10 episodes that I made during the pandemic. It's about a zoologist, who works in a zoo and it explores more about what they actually do and how they do it."

In the Netflix series Mai, Vaibhav plays a ruthless antagonist character, however, apart from that, the actor has mostly been seen portraying light-hearted comic roles. When questioned about the type of roles he would like to explore, the actor mentioned that he chose the intense character in Mai because he wanted to explore a completely new role and even Sahil from Good Bad Girl is a completely different character from any other character he has played even being a light-hearted one.

Samridhi has been a part of multiple short films, one of which is named An Open Sky (Khula Aasmaan) has won her an award for her performance as well. Apart from that, she has also been seen in a boxing short film named Keep Punching, directed by Kirnay Bhatt. Talking about the movie, the actor unveiled, "The director himself is an (unprofessional) boxer and I trained with him for a month on the project. The film is special for me as I still continue to box. The character has also been very interesting for me as she is gay from a small town and aspiring to become a professional boxer."

When asked about their upcoming projects, Vaibhav mentioned that he has finished a film with Supriya Pathak a few months ago and it will be out soon, while Samridhi mentioned that she is still awaiting an interesting project to come her way.
