Exclusive! Govinda Naam Mera actress Trupti Khamkar: Vicky Kaushal is one of the best co-actors to have

Even though she has narrated the characters of maids on-screen in multiple films, actress Trupti Khamkar shares why the upcoming film Govinda Naam Mera is so unique for her. She also adds Vicky Kaushal is one of the best co-actors she has ever worked with.

The upcoming film revolves around Govinda, a budding choreographer played by Vicky, along with Govinda's wife and girlfriend narrated by Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani respectively. Trupti is the house help named Manju who is the witness of a murder that takes place in the household.

Sharing more insight, Trupti told OTTplay, "This is one of the most interesting characters of a bai, a house help I have ever played. She is a spoilt-brat maid who is very loyal to Gauri as she is the lady of the house. When the murder took place, she thought that it is the right time for her to actively participate in the investigation along with the police. So she goes to the police with her observation, assumption and everything that she could speak of, regarding the murder and who did it. When her detailed assumption was told to the police and she is asked where her prediction is coming from, she reveals her source of knowledge and that is nothing but watching CID on TV on repeat! (laugh)"

The actress also mentioned that this is one of the films in which she did not mind playing the character of a housemaid again. She had played a housemaid previously. This time, Trupti did the role only because of the kind of impact that the character is bringing to the overall narrative.

Asked about her whole experience of working with Vicky who is otherwise a much-loved actor and Trupti said, "I think he is one of the best co-actor ones can ever have. He is funny, quite giving as an actor and always on his toes. After the shot is taken, we tend to switch off but he is still vibing with his character, for the next scene...in a subtle manner, he is always living the character. I have most of the scenes with Vicky in the film and some of them are really funny!"

The film Govinda Naam Mera is directed by Shashank Khaitan. It also stars Renuka Shahne, Viraj Gehlani, Sayaji Shinde and Dayanand Shetty among others.

The film is all set to release on December 16. It is a direct-to-OTT release on Disney Plus Hotstar.
