Hussain Dalal has penned the script for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani as well as Brahmastra.
Hussain Dalal, who is recently seen in Farhan Akhtar starrer Toofaan, is also working on the upcoming project Brahmastra. For the uninitiated, the actor has already worked with the duo back in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
While talking to OTTplay, Hussain admitted that he was just 22-year-old when he wrote the script of the film. Thus, Hussain believes Ayan is his mentor.
He shared, “Ayan is my mentor. He taught me how to write. For me, Ayan and Ranbir are people who taught me cinema. I was 22-year-old during Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. I’m so grateful that Ayan chose me for both the films.”
The actor also added, “It’s a very big honour and responsibility. You see the fun pictures but I feel the pressure.”
Calling Ranbir and Ayan his buddies, Hussain further said, “I’m so grateful we got to work on something that’s so new-age and futuristic. It’s been a fantastic experience. Ranbir and Ayan are my buddies. I have learnt so much from them. It’s always fantastic to work with them, learn from them and just hang out.”
Giving an update on Brahmastra, the actor stated, “There is no update. I’ve only written the dialogues of the film. I’m not acting in it. As the world gets better, we’ll try to wrap up the 2-3 days of shoot left and then release it. Right now, till theatres aren’t back in full health, we can’t be sure.”
Meanwhile, Hussain, who has only either written or acted in a film, has finally worked on a movie which he has written and also acted in. Confirming the same, he mentioned, “Yes, I’ve just finished a film which is in post-production. I’ve written and I’m acting in it. As soon as we have the print and title, I’ll announce it.”
“That’s the gradual plan in life - to write and act in a film once a year,” the actor signed off.
