Exclusive Interview: Samantha is a massive inspiration says actress Hindola Chakravorty

Hindola Chakravorty is one of the most talented upcoming actresses in Telugu cinema. She made her debut with the film Oo Antava Mava Oo Oo Anatva Mava which was directed by Relangi Narasimha Rao, the noted director. In an exclusive interview with OTTpplay, she speaks about her career, debut film, working in Telugu, and future plans.

How is your career shaping up?

I have done two films in Telugu already and am reading a few scripts as well. The experience I to in working in Telugu films is immense and I am looking forward to doing more work in Telugu as Tollywood films are receiving global recognition all over the world. This is the best time to be working on Telugu films.

How did you get your first break?

I got a call from the makers of my debut film and they narrated the script. I loved it and signed the film. But my debut film is yet to be released. During the making of this film, the producer of Oo Antava Mava Oo Oo Anatva Mava. The moment I came to know that legendary director Relangi Narasimha Rao would be directing the film, I said yes to it right away.

Working experience with Relangi garu?

He is one of the most dedicated directors I have ever worked with. As I did not know Telugu, sir used to explain the meaning of every dialogue on a daily basis. He was so patient with me and encouraged me throughout the filming of Oo Antava Mava Oo Oo Anatva Mava. I have learned a lot under his supervision and would love to work with him again.

About your background?

I am a Bengali and now living in Mumbai. Right from when I completed my studies for a Bachelor of Arts, I wanted to get into films. So, when I got the opportunity to do a Telugu film, I gave a nod and am happy that I made my acting debut in the direction of Relangi Narasimha Rao. In the days to come, I have no barrier of language and would love to work in any industry.

Any Inspiration in Telugu cinema?

I am a huge fan of Samantha and have loved the way how she has come up the hard way in life. Be it her personal life or professional, the way Samantha has made it to the top has been a huge inspiration. I look up to her and make sure that something of her personality reflects in the work that I do as well.

Work experience in Tollywood?

Coming from a different background, I was wondering how the people on set would treat me. But to my surprise, the people here in the south. The shoot of my film Oo Antava Mava Oo Oo Anatva Mava would start and end at the said time. There is no backbiting or time for gossip as everyone is professional and gets on with the shoot and wraps it up quickly. I have learned to be more disciplined in my professional career after working here in Telugu.

What kind of roles do you want to do in the future?

I am game for both glamor as well character-driven roles. I am an actor and would love to take up any role as a challenge. I am looking forward to my next few films and am game to do films in other languages. I want everyone to remember me as a complete actor who is sincere with each character I play in my career.
