Exclusive! Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke actor Chandan Roy: I want to learn to hack someone's system or phone

After making his mark in the much-celebrated web series Panchayat and Hostel Daze, actor Chandan Roy is back, and this time in an action-packed series titled Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke. The story of the show revolves around the journey of IPS officer Kavya Iyer, who is on a mission to protect the nation from a series of terrorist attacks. Chandan plays a hacker named Candan in the show.

In a special conversation with OTTplay, when asked if he learned how to hack for real, Chandan said with a laugh, "Off the record, I can say, yes! I want to learn how to hack someone's system or phone." He continued, "But, no, I was just following the script to play the character in the show and did not go deep enough to learn hacking for real. Apart from that, it is also illegal! So, no, I play a hacker in the show, but I did not learn it!"

When asked more about his character, he said, "I play a man from a small town who is a very efficient hacker. He is very rooted to his land, and like many intelligent, educated small-town guys, even though he does not look smart like an urban youngster, he is very headstrong and intellectual. He is very talented, but on the surface, he does not look like it. But his actions speak volumes."

Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke also stars Sumeet Vyas, Gayathri Shanker, Deepika Amin and Sandeep Dhabale, among others. It is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji. The show will be available to stream on OTTplay and ZEE5 from January 26.
