The Mollywood actor has also wrapped up his portions for Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan
Mollywood actor Jayaram has been bagging plum projects in other film industries of late and the latest project that he is part of is director Shankar’s upcoming pan-Indian movie that has Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in the lead.
Jayaram has exclusively confirmed to OTTplay that he is part of the big budget film that is set to go on floors soon. “It’s true. I have signed the film. But I can speak more about the movie after a week,” he says.
The actor has also signed a film with NTR Jr last year that has been delayed due to the pandemic. “That project is still on the cards but I will be shooting for the Ram Charan movie first,” says the veteran actor, who had also starred in Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
Recently, Jayaram had also resumed shooting for Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, in which he plays the character of Azhwarkadiyan Nambi. “I have completed the shooting for the movie. My portions had concluded before the ongoing shot in Madhya Pradesh,” he tells us.
Meanwhile, in Malayalam, the actor is all set to team up with filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad again after 11 years. The duo had earlier teamed up for movies such as Sandesham, Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal, Manassinakkare and Kadha Thudarunnu. The upcoming movie also marks the comeback of actress Meera Jasmine after three years.
“The movie has me playing a rooted character and it pretty much adheres to the Sathyan Anthikad formula of movies. The film has all elements that the audience have come to expect from the Jayaram-Sathyan Anthikad combo over the years,” says the actor, adding that the shoot of the film is set to begin from September 20.
