In recent times, there are three shows that have been quite well received by the audience. And interestingly, actor Amit Sial plays a prominent role in all of them. These include Maharani, Jamtara and Kathmandu Connection.

As the new season of Kathmandu Connection is all set to release soon, Amit, who plays a police officer Samarth Kaushik, opened up to OTTplay about the series and more in a special conversation.

Amit said, "I think that the success of the first season of any show is a confidence booster for an actor and makers. It is also reassuring that whatever you intended to do with the story of the first season resonated well with the audience. Then, with the following seasons, all of us - the cast and crew - look at it like another opportunity to entertain the audience again."

Asked about how OTT platforms are bringing about a change and catering to audiences with their content library, Amit said, "It is very interesting for sure. Look, when you have the chance to tell a story and you can see there is a market or audience that is growing in numbers, what story you want to tell it is your choice. Kyunki, har tarha ki kahaani hai aur usko sunne wale log. But I think SonyLIV and a couple of other OTT platforms have managed to maintain a certain realism in their stories that audiences can relate with. We can see how the audience is responding! I think in last two years, we are reaping the fruits of whatever we were sowing."

The new season Kathmandu Connection is set in 1999 and revolves around an investigation into the IC-814 hijack - a national security threat to India and a connection behind the conspiracy that goes back to Kathmandu.

Written by Siddharth Mishra and directed by Sachin Pathak, Kathmandu Connection also features Gopal Datt, Anshumaan Pushkar, Aksha Pardasany, Prashant Narayanan, Harleen Sethi and Anuraag Arora. It is releasing on December 23 on SonyLIV.
