Koneenica Banerjee takes leave from the set of Star Jalsha’s Aay Tobe Sohochori. The actress is currently in Chennai for surgery on her spinal cord. She has shared a bunch of photos from the set on her social media handle. In fact, her trach in the serial has also indicated that she will take leave from her family.

While talking to OTTplay, the actress elaborated about her spinal cord injury. She said that she has been struggling with pain. The actress was also shooting for Avijit Sen’s Projapoti with Mithun Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar and Dev. “I have been popping painkillers while shooting. The pain is killing me,” she told us before leaving.

According to sources, the actress expressed her intention to leave the serial. Neither the serial team nor the actress’ team conveyed any confirmation on her future in the serial. Meanwhile, the first leg of the Projapoti shooting was completed. The actress, along with the team, shot for about 10 days at a house in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Talking about working with Mithun and Mamata Shankar, she said that working with these two stalwarts was like attending an acting masterclass. “I learned dancing from Mithunda’s moves in Dance Dance and Disco Dancer. During the time I was growing up, he was ruling Bollywood. I have always been a great fan. This is the first time I am watching him so closely. While he is evidently a star, he is down-to-earth and loving. With Mithunda, you can talk about everything – cooking, diet plan, dancing, cinema, spirituality and what not! I am still in his awe.”

Meanwhile, with Mamata Shankar, Koneenica shares a long relationship. “I have adored Momodi’s (Mamata Shankar) dancing since I was a child. I have always been a fan of her choreography and personality. Watching her so closely while acting is an experience,” she says.
