Pia Bajpiee has been receiving a lot of love for her performance in the newly-released Hindi film Lost. The actress that even though she has worked extensively in South Indian films, and in two Hindi films earlier, her career in Bollywood did not take off.
The actress emphasised that just good content is not important, but also a good release of films, which helps it reach a larger audience. Pia made her Hindi debut in 2016 with Laal Rang, which also featured Randeep Hooda and Akshay Oberoi.
Pia told OTTplay, "I started my journey in the Hindi film industry with the film Laal Rang. Since it was a new production house, the film did not get a great release. It even got positive reviews from critics, but did not do that well at the box office. Then, I did another film called Mirza Juliat. Again, that film did not get a good release. You see, even if the film is good, if it is not watched by many people, your work as an actor remains unnoticed. So, I took a break from Hindi films, as well as South Indian film. I realised that such films will not help me to grow in my career."
Pia added that with Lost, her family and friends in her hometown in UP have finally watched her film. "I want that kind of exposure. I am not asking to be treated like a superstar, but I want to get the recognition I deserve for my work," she said.
Lost also stars Yami Gautam, Rahul Khanna and Pankaj Kapur, and is available to stream on OTTplay and ZEE5.
