Exclusive! MasterChef India Season 7 judge Ranveer Brar: I am looking for someone with child-like energy and unreasonable belief in food

From cooking in the kitchen, setting up restaurants, hosting cooking shows and acting in a National Award-winning filmmaker's short film - Ranveer Brar is a prominent celebrity chef who has explored multiple mediums.

And the chef, who is gearing up for the upcoming season of MasterChef India, is looking for a budding chef who has immense faith in food.

In a conversation with OTTplay, he shared the most important element that every budding talent should have to achieve success. Ranveer said, "You have to have faith in the medium that you have decided to excel in. At times, especially when you are struggling to achieve your goal, you might just stop believing in things. I am talking about an unreasonable belief that a child has. As a chef, you have to believe that mera khana mujhe kabhi dhokha nehi dega, because you have a very special relationship with food."

"If a painter believes in his colour and canvas, a chef believes in the medium of food, then they can become the master of their craft. As a judge, I am looking for someone with child-like energy and unreasonable belief in the medium of food, who can potentially become a MasterChef," he further added.

Ranveer has curated menus for many restaurants in India and abroad, along with hosting cooking shows on television and digital platforms, with shows such as Thank God Its Fryday, Raja Rasoi Aur Andaaz Anokha, Ranveer On The Road and You Got Chef'd, among others.

He has authored two books (Come Into My Kitchen and A Traditional Twist), and acted in Hansal Mehta's short film Baai, as part of the anthology Modern Love: Mumbai.

MasterChef India Season 7 is hosted by Garima Arora, and Vikas Khanna along with Ranveer. It begins on January 2, 2023, on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV.
