A few days ago, Mollywood celebs released the first look poster of Neeraj Madhav and Aparna Balamurali’s Sundari Gardens, which is directed by Charlie Davis and produced by National Award-winning filmmaker Salim Ahamed.
The movie is full-fledged musical, Charlie tells OTTplay. “It’s basically a love story. The entire film is shot in an authentic structure of a musical that we see in Hollywood movies. Alphons (Joseph) chettan has composed five songs and we have so many musical numbers in the film that we have lost count,” explains the filmmaker, who had earlier assisted Ranjan Pramod and TK Rajeevkumar.
On the lead duo’s characters, the debutant director says, “Aparna Balamurali plays a librarian named Sundari Sara Mathews and Neeraj essays an English teacher at the school. The other two pivotal characters in the film are played by Binu Pappu and Jude Anthany Joseph.”
The movie, which was shot in Erattupetta, Pala and Wagamon, also has Vijayaraghavan, Sminu Sijo and Karikku fame Lakshmi Menon, Anagha Maria Varghese and Sruthy Suresh. Swaroop Philip has cranked the camera for the movie, which has Sajit Unnikrishnan as its editor.
Ask Charlie if they have confirmed the release plans and the filmmaker says, “We are currently working on the post-production of the film and will take a call on the release only after that.”
Meanwhile, Aparna had recently completed shooting for the segment Kadalkaattu from the Netflix anthology based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s short stories. The segment, directed by Rathish Ambat, also has Indrajith Sukumaran and Ann Augustine as part of the cast.
