Exclusive: Niharika Konidela turns producer for a Telugu web show on ZEE5

Actress Niharika Konidela, niece of Telugu star Chiranjeevi, is donning the producer's hat for a Telugu web show that'll stream on ZEE5 soon. Produced under her banner Pink Elephant Pictures, the show will be directed by Mahesh Uppala, who has helmed several short films and various episodes for the Youtube series titled Mad House during 2019-20. While the makers remain tightlipped about the show, it is believed to be a fun comic caper featuring a mix of young talents and veteran artistes. The show went on floors in the second half of July.

Apparently, the makers have already finalised the title for the show and the streaming platform is even planning a unique digital campaign around the same. The show is expected to release before the end of this year and the shoot is progressing at a brisk pace. The director Mahesh Uppala has been associated with Pink Elephant Pictures for a while now. He was the brain behind the Mad House series, also produced by Niharika. Mad House is a sitcom on the lines of Friends featuring Santosh Nandivada, Goldie Nissy, Kruthika Singh Rathore, Shivani Singh and Karthik Appala besides Niharika in a special appearance.

Niharika's earlier projects under Pink Elephant Pictures include the first-ever Telugu web series Muddapappu Avakai and Nanna Koochi, (starring her) both directed by Pranith Brammandapally. She was part of Chiranjeevi's magnum opus Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in 2019 and will next be seen in a web show that also features Anasuya in a crucial role. The show is an out of the box thriller which commenced shoot in January 2021. Niharika was supposed to star in a project with Ashok Selvan in Tamil but dropped out due to personal commitments.
