Very recently, Nisha Rawal had stated that she could be open to having her ex-husband Karan Mehra on the upcoming show Lock Upp, despite accusing him of physically abusing her in their marriage. She was announced the first contestant on the reality show, which is going to be hosted by Kangana Ranaut. She now spoke to OTTplay at length about how she feels having to be in the same place as Karan.
We asked Nisha if she hinted that she is ready to be amicable and probably be friends with Karan again, by stating that she could be on the same sets as her ex-husband. She said, “I don’t feel friendship is a one-way street. Two humans can grow out of each other but true humanity would be to exhibit how you conduct yourself. At least you shouldn’t disturb each other.”
Ready to move ahead in life and leave the incident in the past (not the feelings associated with it), Nisha said, “I’m okay to be amicable. Then again, it’s very relative. I can’t really answer this question in a yes or no. There are a lot of things that are attached to it – a lot that we shared and have happened.”
Hinting that she would choose to ignore the fact that they are under one roof, the actress added, “I believe that usually there are some challenges which you have to face but then there are some that don’t make a difference. You can just back out of them because it doesn’t matter. It won’t better your quality of life or add any value to you so you don’t really have to participate in every challenge that comes your way. I believe that it doesn’t matter.”
Sharing that she would speak to him as little as possible, Nisha mentioned, “I can’t do a shut-eye when this will be happening but I think it’s the makers’ prerogative. I shouldn’t be interfering in that space. It’s a creative call and every maker who pumps in so much energy, effort and money should have the right to decide to do so. I’m a professional so it shouldn’t matter to me. I know how much, when and what to talk. It’s not like I want to bring my house problems to the show, right?”
“The point is to inspire and do the right thing – not get into the details of things or make yourself uncomfortable. The point is to tell people it’s okay, you have a challenge and should have the courage to face it. It doesn’t matter to me. If they want to bring him to the show, yeah, whatever. I don’t care,” the actress signed off.
