PremiumExclusive! Nivin Pauly to begin shooting for Anuraj Manohar’s Shekhara Varma Rajavu by May end

Malayalam star Nivin Pauly is all set to get busy again in Mollywood. Nivin, who recently completed the long-delayed Padavettu and has wrapped up portions for Peranbu director Ram’s Tamil movie, will next start work on Ishq director Anuraj Manohar’s upcoming movie titled Shekhara Varma Rajavu.
The film, which marks Anuraj’s second directorial, is also produced by Nivin. Anuraj tells OTTplay that the team is planning to begin shoot by the end of May and they are currently busy with finalising the rest of the cast and pre-production works of the film.
Touted to be a fun commercial entertainer, the movie has Nivin plays a member of a royal family. Set in the contemporary era, the film will explore his place in today’s society and focuses on the conflicts between the characters. “It also revolves around the legal battles of a person,” Anuraj had earlier told us.
Scripted by S Ranjith, Anuraj had earlier told us that the duo has been working with Nivin for the past two years on the script of the movie. The principal location of the movie is Pattambi.
Meanwhile, Nivin has a long list of movies scheduled for release. The actor, who was last seen in Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, has wrapped up shooting for Rajeev Ravi’s Thuramukham and Abrid Shine’s Mahaveeryar, also starring Asif Ali.
Thuramukham was slated to release in theatres in January this year, but was postponed due to the Omicron threat and an issue with its distributors. It now seems that Mahaveeryar, which is also co-produced by Nivin, could hit theatres first.
The movie, which is currently aiming at a May 20 release, belongs to the fantasy genre with elements of satire, time travel and court drama. Apart from Nivin and Asif, the film also has Lal, Shanvi Srivastava, Lal, Lalu Alex and Mallika Sukumaran in pivotal roles. The movie marks the third collaboration between Nivin and Abrid after 1983 and Action Hero Biju.
