Actress Pia Bajpiee is coming back to Hindi cinema after a short break with the new Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury-directed thriller film Lost, in which she is playing a mysterious character. In a chat with OTTplay, the actress gives an insight into her character in the movie.

“It is an interesting and relatable character with a dash of mystery in it. My character’s name is Ankita, who comes from a small town, and is trying hard to make it big in her life. She is an ambitious person, who wants all the good things in life and constantly works towards it. She is in the pursuit of greater things. What she faces while doing that is the journey of the character.”

She also mentioned that initially after narrating the character, the casting director Jogi Malang told her that Ankita is a grey person. However, the actress had a different view about her role in the film. “I remember going back home after the narration and then calling Jogi asking him why he feels that Ankita is grey and borderline negative. I rather felt that in every human being, be it a man or a woman, there is an Ankita. Being ambitious and greedy is not wrong, especially for those who leave their house and family just to achieve their goals in a big city. Of course, I went through a process to finally understand the character better,” Pia elaborated.

Adding to that, she said, “I also believe that Ankita is such a relatable character that after watching the film, if anyone says that they cannot relate with her action, let me tell you, they are lying.” Pia has previously acted in the Randeep Hooda-starrer film Laal Rang.

Lost also stars Yami Gautam, Pankaj Kapur, Neil Bhoopalam and Tushar Pandey among others. The film is releasing on ZEE5 on February 16, and it is also available on the OTTplay app.
