The penultimate episodes of Soumik Haldar’s Mahabharat Murders are here and Priyanka Sarkar – who plays investigating police officer Ruksana Ahmed – seems to be happy with the response she received.

Hoichoi will release the final episodes of Saswata Chatterjee, Arjun Chakraborty and Priyanka starrer web series on Friday. Meanwhile, Priyanka has completed working on Srijato’s directorial debut, Manab Jamin, which also has Parambrata Chatterjee and Paran Bandyopadhyay. The actress is currently taking a small break before getting back to work in June.

In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, the actress talked about her accident during the shooting, her characters and other projects.

On December 3 last year, after the shooting, the actress met with an accident when a bike rammed into the set hitting her leg. She went through surgery and was out of action for months before she could walk. “I still have two plates and 14 screws in my body. It was a complicated surgery. We still had almost three days of outdoor shooting left for Mahabharat Murders and the entire team had to wait till I recovered fully,” Priyanka told us.

After her recovery, she started shooting with Srijato and only after that she could resume shooting for the OTT series. “I am really grateful to my colleagues for waiting for me. I was in a bad shape and it is because of their constant support, I got back to work seamlessly,” she said.

In Mahabharat Murders, Priyanka plays a tough cop. “I played an IPS officer in Dev's Kabir. But that was a small role. Here, the character is layered with a lot of backstories. The scenes of police proceedings, expressions in the interrogation room and dealing with the past were challenging. I have never explored a police officer character so vividly. It was a brilliant experience for me as an actor."

All seasons of Mahabharat Murders are streaming on Hoichoi.
