Exclusive! Regina Cassandra teases her Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke co-star Barun Sobti

The trailer of the web series Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke has released recently and it seems like an engaging tale of IPS officer Kavya Iyer. The star cast consists of Barun Sobti, Chandan Roy and Mita Vashist, among others. Regina Cassandra, the female protagonist of the show, opened up to OTTplay about her co-star, Barun Sobti, who plays Sameer, her onscreen husband.

Asked about how she is feeling post the release of the trailer, Regina told OTTplay, "When we announced the show for the first time, I put up a poster on social media, followed by a teaser. As soon as people saw Barun Sobti in the show, they were excited, with comments like, 'Oho, Barun. Barun is back', and that sheer excitement of seeing him as part of the show is fascinating. I know hearing me say this is making Barun a little embarrassed, but hey that's the truth (laughs)."

Barun responded with a laugh, saying, "Yes, yes, I get that!"

Sharing more about the show and the character she plays, Regina said, "The show is a cop drama. There have been several cop dramas, but what we have attempted to do is with the show is to show the struggle of a female IPS officer to balance between her professional and personal life. The story is an interesting journey."

The story revolves around Kavya and her tryst with deadly terrorist attacks to protect the nation from danger, which impacts her family life as a mother and wife.

The show, which also stars Sumeet Vyas, Gayathri Shanker, Deepika Amin and Sandeep Dhabale, among others, is directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji.

Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke is available to stream on ZEE5 and OTTplay from January 26.
