Exclusive! Ritwick Chakraborty, Ishaa Saha, and Anirban Chakrabarti in Joydeep Mukherjee’s next

Director Joydeep Mukherjee turns a year younger today and he has a bouquet of surprises for his fans. The actor-director is still savouring the success of his latest film, The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan which has completed a run of 50 days. Meanwhile, he completed the shooting of his next web series with Anirban Chakrabarti for Hoichoi. 

But that’s not all. Joydeep is all set to travel to the UK in July for another feature film, Aparichito. Produced by Eskay Movies, the film features Anirvan Chakrabarti, Ritwick Chakraborty, Ishaa Saha, and others. Talking about the film, Joydeep said, “It is a thriller-cum-family drama. A man loses his memory after meeting with an accident. After the accident, he senses a conspiracy around him. He fails to trust his colleagues and friends, even police officers. Ritwick plays the protagonist and Anirban, a cop. Ishaa plays the character of Mala – an important character in the film.” The shooting of the film will start on July 21 and will go on till August 5-6. 

Even before the shooting of Aparichito, Joydeep is busy with a web series for Hoichoi. Based on Ullash Mullick’s Dugdugi, this web series will also feature Anirban – his favorite actor. “It is not just about Anirban. Padmanava (Dasgupta) has penned the scripts for all these works. The partnership between Anirban, Padmanava and I clicked very well. We joke that we will end up signing a MoU,” he quipped. 

Dugdugi also features Bishwanath Basu, Sreya Bhattacharya, Rayati Bhattacharya, Lokenath Dey, Atanu Buman, and others. The shooting has almost completed and the series will be dropped in August. Talking about the show, Joydeep said, “It delves into the life of an ordinary man who gets trapped in the social pressure and starts to behave weirdly.” 

Finally, the director also confirmed that there another Eken Babu is on the cards. “We will go on the floors in September and it will release in December,” the director confirmed.
