Exclusive! Sandesh Prasannakumar's debut film is titled Racer

We had exclusively reported that international professional superbike racer Sandesh Prasannakumar is all set to debut as an actor in filmmaker Bharath VJ’s next project. Sandesh will be romancing Adhvithi Shetty in the film that is based on bike racing. The title of the film, which was so far called Production No. 2, has now been revealed. The film has aptly been titled ‘Racer’.

Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya launched the title of the film, while former Miss Supranational and actress Asha Bhat sounded the muhurta clap at the event that was held yesterday in Bengaluru. Incidentally, both Tejasvi and Asha are Sandesh’s good friends.

Speaking to OTTplay about the event, Bharath says, “Tejasvi Surya said that he is waiting to watch it on the first day, first show. Asha Bhat said that she is excited about the film and is waiting for us to go on floors. They individually wished the entire team all the best, and we are now all geared up to begin work on the project.”

OTTplay had also reported that Sandesh will be performing all the bike stunts in the film himself. Bharath told us that the film will have an exciting, action sequence that will be shot at Noida’s Buddh International Circuit. “This will be the first film ever to shoot at the Buddh International Circuit. Several international professional racers will feature in the special sequence. We are also close to finalising a tie-up with an international bike company for the film,” informs Bharath.

Racer is produced, directed and written by Bharath VJ, who is also in charge of the screenplay. It has Sandesh Prasannakumar and Adhvithi Shetty in lead roles. Arjun Janya is scoring the music for the film.

Sandesh is a professional superbike racer and the first Indian to line up in Thailand Superbike Championship 2018 (he finished fourth). He was also the 2016 JK Tyre Superbike National Champion.

Adhvithi rose to fame with Yash and Radhika Pandit’s 2014 film Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari. The actress has since done films like Suli, Kaarmoda Saridu and Girgitle. She is currently awaiting the release of her films Sugar Factory, Iravan, Dheera Samrat, 1888, Brahma Kamala and Mr Beggar.
