Although Sanjay Mishra is well recognised for his impeccable comedic timing, the actor is currently receiving recognition for his work in the thriller Vadh. The movie, which also features Neena Gupta, released on movie screens on 9th December to rave reviews.
In a special conversation with OTTplay, the actor, who is receiving a lot of love for his performance in the recently released film Vadh shared about what kind of roles attract him the most, he stated: "I don't want to perform in a monotonous style, both for the audience and for myself. Variety is always a good thing to have in life, as the saying goes."
He added, "I'm always on the lookout for content-oriented roles. But they do not particularly attract a lot of audience. If people had not recognised me from "Aakhon Dekhi," I would have been appearing only in movies like "Dhamaal" and "All The Best." "Aakhon Dekhi" and "Kaamyaab" were the movies that gave me completely distinct looks."
Asked if he is acres of box office numbers before the release of his films, Sanjay Mishra shared, "Even though the critics will continue to praise the movie, I'm accustomed to the fact that audiences won't go to the theatre to see my movie. Sanjay Mishra lacks the ability to draw crowds to theatres and shatter box office records and I have made peace with this fact."
Meanwhile, Vadh, which is set in Gwalior, is on a simple family who finds themselves in the centre of a grisly murder investigation. Rajeev Barnwal and Jaspal Singh Sandhu co-wrote and directed the movie. J Studio and Next Level Production produced Vadh. The movie is being presented by the Luv Films of director Luv Ranjan.
On the work front, Sanjay Mishra will be next seen in Rohit Shetty‘s upcoming film Cirkus. The film also stars Ranveer Singh in a dual role alongside Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever, Siddhartha Jadhav, Tiku Talsania, Ashwini Kalsekar, Brijendra Kala, Mukesh Tiwari, amongst others.
