After shooting Tekka with Dev and Feluda-series Bhuswargo Bhoyonkor, Srijit Mukherji is all to begin his new film with Ritwick Chakraborty, Anirban Bhattacharya, Rudranil Ghosh, Kaushik Sen and others. OTTplay first reported about the development. Now, the female cast is getting finalised and as per sources, Sauraseni Maitra will be seen as one of the key characters.

Takes inspiration from Ek Ruka Huwa Faisla

The yet-untitled film will be based on the NSD play, Ek Ruka Huwa Faisla, which was later made into a film in 1986. The film which features Pankaj Kapur, Annu Kapur, and others, and directed by Basu Chatterjee is also an adaptation of Reginald Rose’s 12 Angry Men. Srijit and his team will start shooting in June after he gets back from the shooting of Bhuswargo Bhoyonkawr. The script reading sessions have started already.

Sauraseni Maitra busy with projects

On the other hand, Sauraseni also has her hands full. After working in Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Amar Boss with Rakhee Gulzar and Raj Chakraborty’s Babli with Subhashree Ganguly and Abir Chatterjee, she was busy with Pathikrit Basu’s Shastry with Mithun Chakraborty. The shooting was stalled after the veteran actor fell ill and was admitted to a hospital. However, now, he is back and the work will resume soon.

It is not just these three films, Sauraseni has been working on a number of Bengali OTT shows as well. Last year, her Shabash Feluda was dropped on Zee5. She will be seen in Arindam Sil’s Unishey April which is scheduled to be dropped on a new OTT platform.

Meanwhile, Srijit’s film has a stellar star cast. Besides Ritwick, Anirban, and Rudranil, it also has Kaushik Ganguly and Kaushik Sen. The director will travel to Kashmir by the middle of March and for the second season of Hoichoi’s Feludar Goyendagiri. Based on Satyajit Ray’s Bhuswargo Bhoyonkawr, the web series will feature Tota Roy Chowdhury, Anirban Chakraborty and Kalpan Mitra as Feluda, Lalmohan Ganguly and Topshey.
