Actor Sharib Hashmi, who is winning hearts with his negative character in Vikram Vedha, opens up on his upcoming projects. The actor reveals that he will be seen playing an out-an-out comic character.
In a conversation with OTTplay, Sharib said, "I am excited about my next two projects, both films. For the longest time, I wanted to play two kinds of characters — comic and dark. Thanks to Vikram Vedha, I got a chance to portray a dark character. And my next sees me doing comedy. Since the makers have not announced the film, I am not allowed to talk about it elaborately, but yes, I can confirm that I am finally playing a comic role in a film."
Sharib adds, "That apart, I am also part of an upcoming film titled Shiv Shastry Balboa, in which I got a chance to work with two veteran actors — Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta. I have a humourous part In that film as well. I am genuinely excited about how my wishes are getting fulfilled with each project and I am getting to explore various genres."
The actor has multiple projects in the pipeline, including Mission Majnu, Sharmaji Ki Beti and The Incomplete Man.
Starting his career in 2000 with MTV Bakra as a writer, Sharib slowly switched over to Bollywood and has worked with some of the most celebrated actors of the film industry, be it Shah Rukh Khan in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Manoj Bajpayee in The Family Man, and Hrithik Roshan in Vikram Vedha. He will soon be seen sharing screen space with Siddharth Malhotra and Anupam, among others.
Sharib says that with each passing day, his work is getting better thanks to the time he gets to spend with his co-actors.
"I believe that co-actors play a huge role in enhancing the performance of any actor. Since our performance has a lot to do with energy exchange, it is only natural that my performance becomes more impactful onscreen around talented co-actors. Manojji improvises and you have to be alert to catch the moment. Hrithik sir is very giving as an actor. So, my co-stars constantly help me create some of the best moments onscreen," shared Sharib.
Sharib's latest film, Vikram Vedha, is currently theatres.
