Shraddha Das plays a pivotal role in the new crime thriller series, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. Created by Neeraj Pandey and directed by Bhav Dhulia, and also starring Karan Tacker, the series is based on real-life events.

Shraddha, who plays a telecom operator named Saumya Mukherjee from Kolkata in the show, has worked with Neeraj for the second time; earlier, they collaborated in a Bengali film titled The Royal Bengal Tiger, which was produced and written by Neeraj.

Asked if she faced any challenges while playing the character, Shraddha told OTTplay, "It is a natural ability of any telecom operator to be good with numbers and codes. So, as an operator, my character utters numbers with a certain amount of ease, as that is something she does every single day. I, as Shraddha, am very bad at remembering numbers, so recalling all those numbers almost like a dialogue was quite a challenge for me. Also, there were names of places that I have never heard or read about before, so initially, I had quite a struggle remembering the digits and names of places for my character."

The story of the series is set between 2000 and 2006, when the crime rate in Bihar was high. The series follows top-cop Amit Lodha, who is in search of a deadly criminal, Chandan Mahto, and his gang. In the show, Saumya helps Amit catch Chandan, capitalising on her job as a telecom operator.

Shraddha has been working in multiple languages and keeps shuffling between the Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali and Hindi film industries.

Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, also stars Jatin Sarna, Ashutosh Rana, Aishwarya Sushmita, Shraddha Das, Nikita Dutta, Vinay Pathak, Avinash Tiwary and Karan Tacker. It is streaming on Netflix.
