Kannada actress Shraddha Srinath might have made her acting debut in Malayalam with Asif Ali’s Kohinoor but it has taken the actress over six years to get back to the industry in a role that excited her. Shraddha will be seen opposite Mohanlal in B Unnikrishnan’s upcoming film Aaraattu, which is set to hit theatres on February 18.
The actress, in an exclusive interview with OTTplay, tells us that she has been following Malayalam since her debut in 2015 and has been hoping to get good offers from the industry. Aaraattu proved to be just that, with her playing a revenue divisional officer in the ‘mass’ entertainer, scripted by Udaykrishna.
Now that she has collaborated with Mohanlal in Malayalam, ask her if there are any other actors she wants to work with from the industry and she lists Fahadh Faasil, Tovino Thomas and Soubin Shahir.
“Fahadh Faasil is someone I really want to work with. He’s excellent. I respect and admire him so much. Watching every film of his is like a masterclass. It’s just fascinating how someone can hold that talent. I know recognition from pan-Indian audiences and international filmmakers isn’t everything, but it shows you why Fahad is where he is,” says the actress.
The actress also lists Fahadh’s Kumbalangi Nights and Irul co-star Soubin. “He’s another actor that I really admire. I have read a little bit about his journey and how he came to being an actor. I really wish I could share screen space with him,” she tells us.
Shraddha, who had worked with Nivin Pauly in the Tamil movie Richie a few years ago, says she’s also impressed with Minnal Murali star Tovino. “He is a power performer and I have followed his journey too. He’s incredible to watch,” says the actress.
