Srijato’s directorial debut Manabjamin which features Parambrata Chatterjee, Priyanka Sarkar, and Paran Bandyopadhyay in the lead is all set to release on January 6. Now the director is ready with the idea of another film. The title, Chol Rasthaye Saji Tramline, has been procured. As of now, Parambrata will be playing the lead opposite Sohini Sarkar. Produced by Rana Sarkar, the film will go to the floors in 2023.

As per the team, the film will focus on College Street, the tram, Kolkata’s love for poetry, and other markers of the City of Joy. While talking about the film, Srijato said he was working on the script. He added that the film will bring the old-world favour of Kolkata. “College Street and Boipara will play an important role. Another key marker of the film is the tram. There is a poet in the main character and I cannot divulge any further,” he told us. He also confirmed that the shooting may start by the middle of 2023 when ‘everybody is available’.

Meanwhile, Parambrata and Sohini were last seen together in Kaushik Ganguly’s Cinemawala. Parambrata is also looking forward to the new project. “I just heard the concept and honestly speaking I liked it a little more than Manabjamin. I believe Srijatoda and I share a common wavelength. I loved working on his debut and I am looking forward to this one. I do not know how and when we will start but I am sure we will work it out,” he said.

Sohini said that she is looking forward to watching Manabjamin. “This will be the first time I will be working with Ranada and Srijato. Srijato is one of my favourite poets. I look forward to something good,” she said.
