Exclusive! Swastika Dutta learns a new art form for her serial, promo to be shot this week

Swastika Dutta is all set to make a grand comeback on the television screen. She last appeared on TV one and half years back in the serial Ki Kore Bolbo Tomay. Now, the actress will pair up with Subhankar Saha of Jarowar Jhumko fame. As per our sources close to the television industry, the promo of the serial will be shot on November 16 and 17.

Meanwhile, the actress is busy learning a new art form, ventriloquism, in which the ar creates the illusion that their voice is coming from a puppet. Once a popular performing art, ventriloquism saw a sharp decline in Bengal. Currently, it is considered a dying art. Swastika is learning ventriloquism diligently. As per sources, her character is a ventriloquist and she has a puppet. The actress is busy attending workshops with the director of the show Babu Banik – one of the senior directors in the industry. The serial is produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions.

Our sources also informed us that the yet-to-be-named serial will be televised at 9:30 pm. This literally confirms that Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee and Rooqma Roy’s Laalkuthi will either be dropped or rescheduled in the channel. However, there is no confirmation on when the new serial will be premiered on the channel.    

Meanwhile, Swastika has completed the work of a web series with Ushasi Ray, Trina Saha, Ananya Sen, and others. Created by Sahana Dutta, the web series will be dropped on Hoichoi. She has also worked in a KLIKK web series, Johny Bonny, with Debasish Mondal. Swastika will also be seen in Aritra Mukherjee’s Fatafati. With Ritabhari Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee in lead, the film delves into body positivity. The film is scheduled to release the next year.
