Despite being the son of one of the celebrated yesteryear actor Mithun Chakraborty, Mimoh had his share of struggles to make his space in the Bollywood film industry. However, he never became bitter or gave up on his dream because of his father's teaching.
The actor opened up to OTTplay in an exclusive chat.
Ask him about the biggest advice he got from his father and Mimoh says, "Baba told me that we are in a profession where stardom, work, wealth, money and everything that a budding actor wishes for will come if it is meant to be because a lot of these also depends on luck and there is no formula as to why and how the audience will start loving you on-screen. But never forget to be a good human being and contribute to humanity. My father always tells me the importance of giving something to society and in my absence in a room, how people recall me. When you are a famous actor even though people around you dislike you, they will do ji-huzoori because they need you, because you are powerful. If you are a good person, even if everyone will not give you work, they will adore you. A film should not cost a friendship! I think that is why for all these years I have been constantly struggling to get my acting job without making too much noise about it."
Mimoh also talks about his favorite Mithun Chakraborty film. He says, "Of course, it is a very difficult thing to choose one film of my father because I have grown up watching his film the way the whole nation did. But if I have to choose, I would say Phool Aur Angaar and Gunmaster GNM. So yes, my father is a hero for me by all means, when he is dancing or doing action and even in emotional scenes. From baba's recent release, I loved his Bengali film Projapoti. Baba's performance was appreciated by critics and the audience - in both sections. At times I just wonder how come a man be so relentless as a performer even at this age. I see a different kind of excitement in him whenever the camera is rolling. His eyes just light up. Some kinds of magic happens."
In the film Jogira Sara Ra Ra, Mimoh plays the role of an inspector. Directed by Kushan Nandi, the film features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma. It is slated to release in theatres on May 26.
